Biography

Frédéric Fekkai (1958 - ) is a French hairstylist and beauty entrepreneur. Fekkai grew up in Aix-en-Provence, France and began his career in Paris, working as a hairdresser. In his early 20s, he moved to the U.S. to continue his career. By 1989, Fekkai had opened a salon on the ninth floor of Bergdorf Goodman and was one of the most sought-after hairstyles working in the city. During this time, Fekkai created hairstyles for runway shows and editorial shoots as well as for private clients. He first moved his salon to the top floors of Chanel's townhouse in 1996 and, a decade later, moved again to the top floor of Henri Bendel. In addition to this extravagant salon, Fekkai owns other locations in SoHo, Palm Beach, Dallas, LA, and Greenwich. In addition to his work as a hairstylist, Fekkai runs a successful beauty business, manufacturing and selling high-end hair products.
