Lars, Byron

 Person

Biography

Born in 1965, Lars attended FIT 1986-1987 and freelanced fashion sketches from 1986 to 1991 when Women's Wear Daily named him Rookie of the Year. His designs sold in Bloomingdale's Saks and Bendel's but a miscalculated licensing deal forced Lars to quit his business. He returned to fashion design in 1997 when he developed a line for Mattel's Barbie doll. In 2000 he returned to designing tailored women's shirts under the Beauty Mark label.

(The above biographical note was copied from a collection record in FIT's OneSearch library catalog; while no citations are present, it is presumed to have been researched and written by librarians.)
