Biography
American dress manufacturer and past president of the New York Couture Group, Aldrich presented his first dress collection in 1927. Working with his designer, Marie McCarthy, he was involved in fabric selection and editing of each collection. As an example of his innovations, he conceived the loose-fitting silhouette in 1955 that was popular for the next five years.
The above biographical note was copied from a collection record in FIT's OneSearch library catalog; while no citations are present, it is presumed to have been researched and written by librarians.
