Biography
Born into an Italian peasant family, Soprani joined MaxMara in 1967 and became a freelance designer there in 1975. He designed for Gucci and Basile and in 1981 showed the first collection under his name. Soprani is known for his colorful but tailored men's suits and silk evening gowns. His company continues after this death in 1999.
