Biography

Randolph Duke is an American fashion designer. He began his career in 1982, designing swimwear for Anne Cole. From 1987 to 1992, Duke designed under his own label, Randolph Duke Inc. Duke designed both sportswear and swimwear between 1993 and 1995. In 1996, Duke was named creative designer of Halston International. Duke helped revitalize Halston during his time there. Duke debuted his own collection of evening wear in 1997. A year later, he left Halston, moved to Los Angeles, and opened his own boutique. His designs became popular with Hollywood actresses. In both 2000 and 2001, he dressed women who won acting Academy Awards (Hilary Swank in 2000, Marcia Gay Harden in 2001). Duke has continued to design in his Los Angeles studio, primarily for actresses during award season.
