Window display photographs, circa 1946 - 1954

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 1

Scope and Contents

All of the photographs in this folder are black and white or sepia toned; most were produced by either Worsinger photo studio or Nick Malan Studios. The majority are undated, but the few that have handwritten dates on the reverse indicate 1949 and 1950. The merchandise depicted is children's wear, women's wear (including bridal), men's wear and shoes; many of the windows were designed for holidays such as Father's Day, Mother's Day, and Easter. There is one window with a bridal gown "as seen in Colgate Comedy Hour with Eddie Cantor", and another shows a display of clothing by designer Charles James.

There are also photocopied pages of labels describing the windows; the original labels are not present, and these copies have been separated from their accompanying window images.
