 File — Box: 1, Folder: 2

Scope and Contents

This folder contains black and white and color photographs of Christmas windows. Themes include a teddy bears and children keeping house, elves in their workshop, Christmas in the Country, Christmas on the Slopes and Nutcracker type scenes. Some windows display merchandise, but the vast majority are storytelling scenes involving smaller scale figures. There are three photos circa 1930s that depict an abstract Santa Claus and his reindeer and penguins made out of heavyweight paper or cardboard. Many photos are credited to either Worsinger Photo, Nick Malan Studios or Virginia Roehl; Anton Heller is listed as display director on a handful of photos, as is Andrew Druschilowsky.
