Design sketchbooks, 1942 - 1944

 Box — Box: 5

Scope and Contents

This box contains black and white and color design sketches done in gouache, pencil and pen on paper; most sketches include detailed handwritten information about fabrics, color ways and patterning notes, as well as a model number. Some designs are identified as "Palm Beach". While the majority of sketches are undated, there are some "title page" type pages interleaved which have dates, and the labeling of archival folders by previous SPARC staff with date ranges appears to have been taken from binders the sketches were removed from.
