Scope and Contents
This folder contains a scrapbook that includes newspaper and magazine clippings about Vera Maxwell and her designs. There are also black & white prints depicting women models wearing Maxwell designs. Most of the prints have descriptions of the designs and fabric samples attached to them. Also, included are invitations of a showing of the collection Vera Maxwell for Autumn 1959, a color transparency of a model woman wearing a Maxwell dress, typed descriptions and reference lists about the designer's collections Fall and Autumn 1959, texts related to a talk Vera Maxwell gave and it was associated with The Fashion Group, handouts related to Les Châteaux de France, another handout related to Woolknit Associates, Inc., correspondence, and promotional materials. There is also brochure related to a luncheon and a fashion show in which Vera Maxwell participated and it was associated with The Celanese Corporation of America, another related to The Watchmakers of Switzerland, and other brochures and handouts related to fashion events in which Vera Maxwell participated as well.
