Sketches

 Series

Scope and Contents

This series holds several thousand sketches and croquis of women's fashion designs, many with fabric swatches, covering the majority of time that Mollie Parnis designs was in business from 1935-1984. Many of the sketches have numbers (possibly registration numbers) on them, which can be linked to price or design lists kept within the collection. Some sketches have notations that point to issues of magazines. It's interesting to note that many sketches have whimsical marks on them to signify shine or sparkle. There are clear connections between the croquis sketches and the more detailed sketches within some of the collections.
