Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of newsprint clippings, primarily from the New York Times (including the Magazine and Book Review supplements), articles with photographs depicting ballet dancers in rehearsals, fittings, and performing in costume and masks. Press includes coverage of the Ballet Russe and dancers from Bali coming to New York; an image of the Radio City Ballet dancers onstage; an article about ballerina Milada Mladova; scenes from the Ballet Theatre including dancers Lucia Chase, Karen Conrad, Anton Dolin, Nana Gollner, Nora Kays and Nina Stroganova, plus choreographer Eugene Loring. There is also one folded flyer insert that includes an advertisement for a book by Isadora Duncan.
