Dorothy Silverstone collection of fashion design sketches

This collection contains undated original color ink, pencil, and watercolor sketches of women's wear which look to be from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Many have textile swatches attached. and a significant number feature beading or sequins; handwritten notation on the face indicates fabric and construction details as well as pricing for the garment shown. There is no designer or brand identified; the donation receipt for this collection identifies the sketches as being from "Italy", but there is no other indication of creator.

Dorothy Silverstone donated these items in 1987, and three of the sketches have written on the reverse "my dress" or "my suit" with Silverstone's signature; the sketches in this collection may have been custom designs sent to Silverstone (she was a noted philanthropist, whose husband was president of 20th Century Fox in the mid-20th century, so presumably she attended many social functions).
