Scope and Contents
This collection contains newsprint press clippings, original sketches with attached swatches, and photographs that document the fashion design firm Papillon. Much of the material was likely previously removed from scrapbooks by former SPARC staff.

Biographical / Historical
Papillon was a women's fashion design firm founded by Susan Scheinman and designer Annemarie Gardin. Scheinman was the daughter of Nathan Scheinman, head of McMullen, the New York dress house. In 1973, Ms. Scheinman was nominated for the CFDA.
