Carlos Nei sketches
Scope and Contents
This collection contains fashion sketches executed in pencil and watercolor on heavyweight board. Designs are of women's evening dresses, day dresses, and coats; some feature unusual hats. All but five are signed "Carlos", and those with signatures are also dated by the artist.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Sketches were donated in 1976 by the Union Française des arts du costume, Paris, now part of the Musée de la mode. Sketches were received by Tom Drew in the FIT Design Lab. Each sketch bears a notation in French indicating that the Union Française des arts had received them as gifts from Madame Carlos Nei in 1971. (notation in library catalog)
