Scope and Contents

This collection contains undated plates hand-painted on starched muslin or canvas fabric, featuring many styles of Balinese costume--festival or theatrical costumes. women in highly decorative saris and dresses, and fully painted scenes from everyday life. Some paintings are signed W.J. Senter, W.J. Radjin, M.D. Tirtha, and W.J. Rugem; many of the signed pieces also have a handwritten note "Batuan Bali".
