Biographical / Historical
Betty Jane Cooke was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology who began her professional career in retail personnel administration in the 1940's. In the 1960's she worked in product development for Deering-Milliken, where she tested new fabrics. Other positions involved administrative work at Bigelow-Sanford, a carpet manufacturer.
