This collection contains receipts for menswear items purchased from retailers in Portland Maine and Dover New Hampshire. All have printed letterhead with handwritten details about items and pricing, from the following retailers: Dr. W. Berry, Dr. M. McCarthy and C. F. Jellerson (all listed separately on different receipts but at the same street address)--Fine boots and shoes; John T. W. Ham--Hats, caps and furs; J. W. and H. H. McDuffee--Swiss and American watches, fine gold jewelry, etc.; E. N. Perry--Hats, caps and fur goods.
