Scope and Contents

This collection contains photocopied letter and telegram correspondence sent to Mr. Reilly on the occasion of a dinner held at the Vanderbilt Hotel on July 14, 1939 to celebrate his 20th anniversary as president of the Associated Merchandising Corporation. Correspondents include Harvard and Northwestern University, Bloomingdale's and other major department stores, and various companies and individuals from across the fashion and retail industries. There is also a photocopied section (introduction plus p.1-31) from Reilly's book "Old Masters of Retailing", one photocopied group portrait photograph of attendants at the dinner, and the program from the event. Reilly also had a longstanding affiliation with the Retail Research Association.
