This collection contains original signed color renderings (gouche, pencil, and pastel) of women's wear by Irene. Four of the drawings of evening gowns are on thin paper mounted to board; these were donated by Doris Duke in 1972, and are dated circa 1945 on the donation receipt. A fifth drawing, signed by both Irene and illustrator Virgina Fisher, depicts a brown daytime suit dress of the style that Irene was famous for.

This collection includes letters, art gallery catalogues, documents relating to Copeland's lecturing, press clippings from the 1930's through the 1960's, and fashion sketches. Some of the sketches are from subscription services such as Elsie Cobin and Paris Fashion Services, while others are probably Copeland's own work.

Many have multiple garments drawn on the same page, and some have extensive handwritten notation and/or style numbers; about half have textile swatches attached, and many of these are knit fabrics.

This collection contains sketches by American fashion designer Muriel King including her designs, costumes for films and theater, as well as personal artworks from the 1930s to mid-1940s, photographs of models in King's designs, related press clippings and correspondences.
