Scope and Contents 50 color and black and white photographs taken by Jamel Shabazz. Inspired by the photographic documentation of African American communities by James Van Der Zee and Leonard Freed, these photographs represent urban street fashion primarily in Brooklyn and Manhattan between 1980 and 2010.
