Cosmetics and perfume window displays, circa 1900s - 1960s
Scope and Contents
This folder contains sepia-toned and black and white photographs of window displays featuring perfume and cosmetics; many displays also include other items like clothing, hats, or gloves. Many of the photographs appear to be from the 1920s and 1930s, with mannequin heads that are Art Deco in their style; some of the props and other visuals used in the displays are quite surreal. Named designers include Lucien Lelong, Helena Rubenstein, Harriet Hubbard Ayer, Guerlain, Dorothy Gray, Antoin de Paris, Elizabeth Arden, Peggy Sage, Charles of the Ritz and Revlon.
