Identifier: SC.411.1.169

Scope and Contents

This folder contains a scrapbook from 1954 with newspaper and magazine clippings, promotional materials, photographs, and fabric swatches for the 1954 Miss America promotional tour with Evelyn Ay. Miss America's promotional tours were a collaboration between Miss America, Everfast Fabrics, Everglaze, and McCall's Patterns. In 1954, the tour visited Burdine's, Frederick & Nelson, Bullock's, Capwell's, Meier & Frank, L.S. Ayres, and The Dayton Co. There are photographs at the participating stores, fashion show programs, and McCall's sewing pattern envelopes with swatches of the recommended Everfast Fabric. There is also a program for the "Chemistry in Fashions" show at the Monsanto open house, featuring Everfast Everglaze fabrics.
