Biographical / Historical

The Roundtable of Fashion Executives was founded in 1949 by Lucia Forman, Helen Faith Keane, and Betty Greene under the name Vox Pop (Voices of the People) because they felt the Fashion Group International had grown too large. The name was changed to The Roundtable of Fashion Executives. Membership was confidential and the group met once a month to discuss a predetermined topic with the purpose of "advance trend information of popular priced fashions for our mutual advantage." Membership was restricted to non-competing firms to enable a free exchange of information pertaining to the fashion industry.
