Scope and Contents

This folder contains five commencement programs, one for each year, from May 22, 2001 and May 24, 2002, plus three additional copies.

Elsa Klensch, Fashion Journalist, gave the commencement address for May 22, 2001. Edwin A. Goodman, Chairman, FIT Board of Trustees, conferred an Honorary Doctor of Arts to Oscar de la Renta, Fashion Designer, and an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts to Elsa Peretti, Jewelry Designer. Additional awards were presented.

Alec Baldwin, Actor, gave the commencement address for May 24, 2002. Steven L. Alfasi, Trustee, SUNY, conferred an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters to Jay H. Baker, Retailer, and an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts to Calvin Klein, Fashion Designer. Additional awards were presented.
