Photography Department photographs
The collection is the result of a fundraising effort spearheaded by Tom Caravaglia, the FIT Photography Department chair in 1990. A wide range of photographers, such as Berenice Abbott, Erwin Blumfeld, Russell Kay, Hank O'Neal, and Estelle Wolf were asked to donate examples of their work to "300 Photographs"--An auciton whose proceeds would directly benefit the FIT Photography department. Pierre Simon sketch collection, 1950-1975
This collection hold sketches by three fashion designers collected by Pierre Simon. The bulk (248) of the drawings are by Pierre Balmain (198 b/w and watercolor and 49 b/w pencil sketches). The remaining two sketches include 1 drawing each by Christian Dior and Elsa Schiaparelli.
