This collection contains books, issues of magazines and catalogs, manga, and a pin, all collected throughout the 1980s and 1990s by Charlene Fossum, a Black goth who grew up in the Philadelphia area. Items were either purchased by mail order, from stores in Philadelphia, or stores in New York City (e.g. Tower Records), and are connected either to alternative goth subculture or to Japanese style and culture.

This collection is comprised of three series. The first series has 217 folders containing 190 scrapbooks that document the publicity, promotions, and advertising undertaken by the textile converting firm Everfast Fabrics, Inc. from 1921-1967. The second series has two folders containing loose swatch cards from the 1930s-1959 and the third series has one folder containing label samples from the 1930s-1967, all from Everfast Fabrics, Inc.

Scope and Contents The Frances Neady collection of Original Fashion Illustrations was established in 1984 to honor its namesake, an inspirational teacher of fashion illustration. The collection encompasses over a century of fashion art.
